Kristy Hill BA (Hons) MPsych (Clin) is a passionate and effective therapist who is based in North Hobart, Tasmania. She has been practising as a psychologist since 2004 and spent her early career working within the Tasmanian public services, where she held clinical psychologist positions within the Education Department, Disability Services, inpatient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Services and Forensic Mental Health Services. Kristy began building a private practice in 2009 and since 2015 she has been working exclusively in private practice. 
 
A member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Kristy is a fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, former State Chair for Tasmania and former national committee member of the college. She is also a member of the  Australian Clinical Psychology Association and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA).  
 
Having worked in both inpatient and community settings, Kristy is experienced in providing interventions for all general mental health conditions (eg. depression, anxiety and stress), emotional issues, and life crises. She has a special interest in the treatment of personality disorders, trauma (including borderline personality disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder and self-harm), mood and emotion regulation disorders, perinatal mental health and phobias. She develops personalised interventions, depending on the person’s treatment goals, using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness based therapies.
 
Kristy works with adolescents, adults and couples. She is registered with Medicare Australia, DVA and Private Health Funds. She also provides services for organisations such as ADF, Victims of Crime, Comcare and MAIB.

 MEDICARE AND FEES

To be eligible to claim a medicare rebate for a psychology session, a referral from a  GP,  psychiatrist or a paediatrician is needed dated before, or on the day of, your first appointment. Please bring this referral with you to your first session.

A standard consultation is 50 minutes and costs $235. The Medicare rebate if eligible with a referral is $141.85  ($93.15 gap fee/out of pocket cost)

TELEHEALTH

You can choose to participate in your therapy session via telehealth (secure online video call platform or phone call). To claim medicare for a telehealth session you will need a referral from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrican dated before, or on the day of, your appointment. DVA, NDIS, Victims of Crime, employee assistance services and most private health funds will also fund telehealth services.

If you are feeling unwell, please attend via telehealth. Telehealth sessions are straightforward to participate in. If you choose to go with online telehealth, you will be emailed a link to click on your smart phone, tablet or computer at your appointment time. If you opt for a phone session, you will receive a phone call at your appointment time. Payments can be processed at the time of the appointment via credit card and the medicare rebate processed.
